Thanks to his heroics in Players Championship Four, Luke Humphries has come away from the floor event in Wigan not only with another title, but also with the #1 spot in the Form Guide with his 102.74 average over his last 200 legs.
Humphries exceeded even that figure four times in the event, after a deciding-leg duel in his first match. Since last week, Humphries has gained 1.5 points in averages over his fellow Luke, despite a 6-5 rematch of the 2024 World Championship final going Littler’s way.
That 11th leg victory, however, indicates that the reigning World Champion still has the edge when it comes to winning legs, and accordingly his OChE is 0.66 points higher than Humphries’.
Both players are more than 3.5 points clear of their nearest rival in OChE, however – and that nearest rival (Gerwyn Price) has already lost twice to Humphries in just the last two weeks.
Price himself, while the only other player in the PDC with a 100+ average over his last 200 legs, must face the only player with a better checkout percentage in his first match of tonight’s Premier League – Jonny Clayton.
Though Poland’s Sebastian Bialecki came up short against Price after his run to the quarter-finals of Players Championship Four, he is the most improved player of the past week, having compiled an impressive 12-1 record in European Tour qualifiers and defeated Rob Cross, Jeffrey de Zwaan and Madars Razma (twice) along the way.
Compared to last week’s figure, Bialecki is winning 8.47 additional legs per 100 played against ProTour opponents. That leaves him 20th in the PDC, just ahead of Stephen Bunting.
After the two Welshmen at the top of the doubles rankings, there is Bialecki, with an incredible 45% accuracy making him third in the PDC with 19 ton-plus checkouts in 200 legs.
The young Pole’s stock has never been hotter, but he will not have a chance to translate his superior form into ranking prize money for another week, because his only European Tour qualifier loss put him out of the upcoming event in his home country.
Experience is clearly correlated with impressive statistical performances for the new Tour Card holders, ten of whom are already in the top 64 of averages.
Leading the way is the most successful female player in PDC history, Beau Greaves – the fifth most accurate player in doubles in the entire PDC.
Behind her is Cristo Reyes, a seven-time World Championship qualifier who is the highest-averaging player out of the Q-School class of 2026, and whose OChE rating makes him a 51% favourite to win any leg against a random opponent on the ProTour, a fact which he brought to bear in qualifying three times for the European Tour in his first three attempts.
Also near the top are the two most recent WDF World Champions, Shane McGuirk and Jimmy van Schie, and 2023 UK Open semi-finalist Adam Gawlas.
The average OChE rating of the new 2026 Tour Card holders is 42.8 – so even if these players have fallen short of a Players Championship quarter-final thus far, their performances suggest they may not have much longer to wait.
