Rob Cross was among the four names to secure a spot at the 2026 World Series of Darts Finals at Monday’s Tour Card Holder Qualifier in Leicester.
Following the conclusion of the Australian Darts Masters, the Mattioli Arena played host to the World Series of Darts Finals Tour Card Holder Qualifier, as 91 players competed to secure the final four spots at the £450,000 event.
2020 runner-up Cross will make his eighth appearance at the World Series Finals, seeing off World Matchplay semi-finalist Dirk van Duijvenbode to seal his place.
Following a 6-0 demolition of Carl Sneyd, the 2017/18 World Champion dispatched Brendan Dolan 6-2 and edged past Peter Wright in a last-leg shootout before downing Van Duijvenbode 6-3 to ensure his return to Amsterdam.
Dutch star Kevin Doets will also appear at the AFAS Live, coming back from 5-4 down to defeat Ricky Evans 6-5 and overcoming Andrew Gilding before denying Maik Kuivenhoven 6-3 to confirm his third consecutive appearance.
Czech number one Karel Sedlacek will make his debut at the World Series of Darts Finals, backing up consecutive ton-plus averages against Jimmy van Schie and Ryan Meikle with a 105.22 average in his 6-4 triumph over Owen Bates in their winner-takes-all showdown.
Callan Rydz completes the four qualifiers in Leicester, as he will also make his maiden Amsterdam appearance after stringing together five victories over the likes of Niko Springer, Rob Owen and finally Daryl Gurney.
There were a number of high-profile names to miss out on World Series Finals qualification, including top seed Luke Woodhouse, who was pipped in a last-leg decider by Owen in his second fixture of the day.
Former World Champions Wright and Raymond van Barneveld fell short against Cross and Van Duijvenbode respectively, with German number one Martin Schindler and former World Grand Prix winner Mike De Decker losing in their opening matches.
2022/23 World Champion Michael Smith and Poland’s premier player Krzysztof Ratajski failed to qualify, with Ricardo Pietreczko and Dave Chisnall also among the casualties.
The four qualifiers complete the 32-player field for the 2026 World Series of Darts Finals, which will be headlined by defending champion and top seed Michael van Gerwen and world number one Luke Littler.
The 2026 World Series of Darts Finals will take place at AFAS Live in Amsterdam from September 17-20, as the sport’s biggest stars go head-to-head for the £100,000 top prize.
