Luke Humphries is back on top of the betting to win the BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix after powering past Jermaine Wattimena with a 3-0 victory on Thursday night.
Humphries has overtaken Gerwyn Price as favourite, with the 2023 champion now 7/4 from 11/4 to claim a second World Grand Prix title.
The former World Champion will face debutant Niels Zonneveld for a place in the semi-finals on Friday night as he continues his bid for a fourth consecutive appearance in the tournament’s final, while Price is now second favourite at 11/4 ahead of an all-Wesh showdown with Jonny Clayton.
Nathan Aspinall, who opens the quarter-finals tonight against Ryan Joyce, shades the tag of third favourite at 13/2 ahead of 7/1 shot James Wade.
Wade remains on course to complete a hat-trick of World Grand Prix titles after overcoming Stephen Bunting 3-1 in the second round.
BOYLE Sports spokesperson Lawrence Lyons said: “The unique double-in format can always throw a spanner in the works, but Luke Humphries was prolific in getting himself off the mark in that 3-0 win. We all know how dangerous Humphries can be if he hits his stride and the market has certainly taken notice.”
