The inaugural European Open will see 160 players compete for £750,000 in prize money at the Salzburgarena from June 18–20, 2027.

The new three-day tournament will feature all 128 PDC Tour Card Holders alongside international qualifiers and players from the sport’s development and amateur circuits.

The field will be completed by 16 international qualifiers, the top four players from each of the Challenge Tour and Development Tour, and eight qualifiers from PDC Europe Start.

Taking inspiration from the UK Open, the European Open will provide opportunities for emerging talents and ambitious amateurs to challenge the sport’s biggest names.

Eight boards will be in operation simultaneously, allowing fans to move between boards and watch the action from close range. An Erdinger beer garden, interactive activities and additional entertainment will also be available throughout the event.

PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter said: “The European Open represents another significant step in the growth of our sport across Europe, and we’re delighted to be bringing this new event to Salzburg.

“The UK Open has shown that giving players from different backgrounds the opportunity to compete can produce memorable matches and unexpected results. That sense of possibility will be a big part of the European Open’s appeal.

“It also gives players progressing through our development and amateur circuits something new to aim for, and we look forward to seeing who takes their opportunity.”

The inclusion of eight qualifiers from PDC Europe Start will extend PDC Europe’s pathway from amateur competition to the major stage, alongside the opportunities available through the Challenge and Development Tours.

Full details of qualification events will be confirmed in due course.

The European Open forms part of the expanded 2027 PDC calendar and will follow the World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt from June 10–13.

Day tickets will be available for Friday and Saturday, with separate tickets for Sunday’s sessions.

The ticket pre-sale will begin on November 12, 2026, followed by general sale on November 13.
