Brody Klinge and Raymond Smith dominated the opening weekend of the Australian Darts Association Tour last weekend, as Smith produced perfection in Mandurah.
The 2026 Australian Darts Association Tour season began with Events 1-4 in Western Australia on February 21-22, with Klinge and Smith claiming two titles apiece.
Klinge stormed through a 124-player field to secure Event One success on Saturday, sealed with a whitewash win over two-time World Championship qualifier James Bailey.
The 33-year-old kicked off his campaign with a hat-trick of 6-3 victories, before racing to successive 6-1 wins over Michael Bajowski and Darcy Crane prior to his demolition of Bailey.
The Melbourne man then went back-to-back in Event Two, defeating former Tour Card Holder Darren Penhall 6-3 to round off Saturday’s double-header.
This was preceded by a superb semi-final victory over ANZ Premier League runner-up Raymond Smith, where he averaged 99.97 to run out a comprehensive 6-1 winner.
Klinge also overcame Tom Wiley, David Cairns, Ben Justice and Seamus Lynch on his way to the title, reeling off six straight legs from 3-0 adrift to topple Lynch in the quarter-finals.
However, Smith took centre stage on Sunday, landing a sensational nine-dart leg against Klinge en route to Event Three glory.
The 46-year-old produced perfection in the fourth leg of his semi-final clash against Klinge, averaging 103.66 to halt his compatriot’s winning run with a remarkable 6-0 success.
Smith opened his 2026 title tally with a thumping 6-2 win at the expense of Anthony Shreeve, having also swept aside World Championship quarter-finalist Tim Pusey in the quarter-finals.
Having conceded just eight legs in sealing the Event Three crown, Smith continued his charge by defeating Michael Bajowski in a deciding-set affair to triumph in Event Four.
The Brisbane-born star began his challenge with a trio of straight-set wins against Ian Boyes, Basil Thorne and Karl Schaefer, before denying Jamie Rundle and Howard Jones in deciding-set ties.
“I’m feeling very good. It’s been a very interesting weekend,” reflected Smith, who made the last 16 at the World Darts Championship in 2021/22.
“I got a nine-darter at the Australian Championship two years ago but this was a big one and I’m happy to be part of history.
“It’s been a while since I’ve played tournaments where I’m getting pushed, getting the challenge, so I just want to chase the ADA around and keep playing this level.
“It’s given us the impetus and opportunity now to go back and find that extra level.”
Smith and Klinge occupy top spot on the Australian Darts Association Tour on $3,800, with Bajowski, Shreeve and Bailey completing the top five.
The 2026 Australian Darts Association Tour continues next month, as Events 5-8 take place in Belconnen on March 14-15.
