Beau Greaves’ astonishing sequence of 114 consecutive wins on the PDC Women’s Series circuit came to an end on Saturday, as the year’s second weekend of action got underway in Wigan.
Greaves arrived at the Robin Park Leisure Centre attempting to extend her unprecedented winning run in Women’s Series events, which stretched back to April 2025.
However, Greaves’ bid for an 18th consecutive title was curtailed by an inspired Fallon Sherrock, who ran out a 4-1 winner in round two of their Event Five showdown.
Sherrock averaged 102.12 to Greaves’ 100.28 in ending the record-breaking run, reeling off four consecutive legs in 14, 13, 17 and 14 darts.
However, it was reigning Women’s World Matchplay champion Lisa Ashton who claimed the Event Five crown, courtesy of a 5-3 victory against Sherrock.
The Lancashire veteran relinquished just four legs in advancing to the quarter-finals, where she fired in a brilliant 13-darter to edge past Finland’s Kirsi Viinikainen in a decider.
Following a 5-2 win over Gemma Hayter in the last four, Ashton then sealed her 19th Women’s Series title at the expense of Sherrock, making a late sprint for the finish to triumph with a 90.32 average.
Nevertheless, Greaves restored order in Saturday’s second event, returning to winning ways with a comprehensive five-leg blitz of Hayter in the Event Six showpiece.
The 22-year-old averaged 101.55 to scoop the £2,500 top prize, kicking off the contest with a magical 161 finish, before producing another 12-dart leg to wrap up proceedings.
Greaves conceded just six legs throughout the entire event, having averaged almost 99 in her opening round demolition of Laura van den Berg.
The World Youth Championship runner-up then backed up 4-2 wins against Laura Turner and Trina Gulliver with another whitewash win over Eleanor Cairns, before sweeping aside Robyn Byrne in the semi-finals.
Hayter remarkably surrendered a solitary leg in progressing to the Event Six decider, whitewashing Aileen de Graaf, Ashton and Sherrock before dispatching Noa-Lynn van Leuven 5-1 in the last four.
Greaves’ fifth title of 2026 has seen her establish a £6,200 lead at the top of the Women’s Series rankings, with Ashton occupying second spot above Sherrock and Byrne.
The top three players from the final PDC Women’s Series rankings will qualify to compete in the 2026/27 Paddy Power World Darts Championship, while the top eight players on the rolling 12-month rankings will compete in July’s Betfred Women’s World Matchplay.
This weekend’s Women’s Series action will continue with Events 7-8 at the Robin Park Leisure Centre on Sunday, and coverage will get underway from approximately 1000 GMT on PDCTV.
