Luke Littler’s recent success in the Premier League has come at the expense of Luke Humphries, who finds himself in fifth place and in an elimination position at the halfway point of the 16-week league stage.
The world number two’s OChE rating of leg-winning efficiency has declined to 60.63 – still good enough for fourth in the world, but representing the largest drop over the time period for any player in the PDC.
Humphries’ doubles have been profligate as of late, ranking 77th in the PDC in his last 200 legs with a 35.6% success rate on the outer-ring.
Nevertheless, the defending Premier League champion is second in the world for his averages, although Gerwyn Price – his next opponent on Night Nine in Manchester – outranks him in OChE rating.
Wessel Nijman is currently performing as the best Dutch player in the PDC, and he is the only Dutchman to have won a ranking title in 2026 – three of them, in fact, after scooping two Players Championship events and his maiden European Tour title in Goettingen.
The 25-year-old’s recent statistics are worthy of a Premier League player. He has averaged 98.9 over his last 200 legs and won a majority of his legs in 15 darts or fewer.
Only two players in the PDC are more effective at winning legs by the end of their fourth visit, and only Jonny Clayton among the current Premier League lineup hits doubles with greater accuracy.
Nijman ranks 19th in the PDC Werner Rankings Ladder, but on current form, it will be only a matter of time before he reaches the top 10.
A stunningly successful Players Championship campaign in the final days of March has made Keane Barry the most improved player of the month.
The young Irishman eliminated multiple Players Championship winners including Stephen Bunting, Michael Smith and Krzysztof Ratajski en route to the semi-final of Players Championship Seven, followed by a run to the last 16 in Players Championship Eight, and then capped off a strong few days with qualification for his first European Tour event of 2026 on Wednesday.
In those three days, Barry accumulated 11 wins, four more than he had done in every other Pro Tour event and qualifier of 2026 so far.
He is currently performing as the best doubles hitter in the sport, taking the crown from Jonny Clayton, and gained four points in averages and eight in OChE, placing him within the top 16 players in the world.
The Irishman is now 20 places ahead of any other Irish player in the world rankings and playing to a standard that would be a considerable threat to Premier League contestants.
The unexpected appearance of Kim Huybrechts on the PDC’s statistical leaderboard could signal a career resurgence for a darting veteran who has not won a title in three years.
The Belgian has successfully qualified for four European Tour events this year, including a memorable win over Josh Rock on home soil at the Belgian Darts Open.
Most surprisingly, Huybrechts is now ranked first for 180s recorded in his last 200 legs, surpassing Littler with his 89 three-treble visits.
In defeating Adam Lipscombe in a qualifier for the Austrian Darts Open (ET6), Huybrechts landed six maximums in nine legs – a rate surpassing even that of the prodigiously powerful scorer Litller.
Huybrechts’ accuracy on the treble 20 has yet to result in deep runs in Players Championship events, but having improved six points in OChE through March will ensure that more close matches will swing his way.
