In a week where Luke Humphries finally triumphed over world number one Luke Littler in the Premier League to secure his spot at The O2, the number one average for a PDC player over their last 200 legs is no longer Littler but Humphries.
Humphries’ increase of 1.5 points in averages has taken the world number two comfortably over the 100-mark and more than one point clear of Littler.
Still, Littler retains a small advantage in leg-winning efficiency – indicating that even if Humphries is scoring more heavily as of late, the World Champion is still more effective at converting his power scoring into legs won.
Four of their five meetings thus far in the tournament have been decided by a last-leg shoot-out, and Humphries’ performance in the final league night in Sheffield will determine whether the pair will collide in the semi-final or, possibly, a third consecutive Premier League final.
Although Michael van Gerwen was eliminated from the Premier League Play-Offs this week, the Dutchman returned to top form in Leicester with his first ProTour title of 2026.
The inconsistent nature of Van Gerwen’s peaks and troughs has been characteristic of his career since dropping from world number one, but the 37-year-old demonstrated his remarkable talent at Players Championship 15.
Van Gerwen won his 37th ProTour title following a 7-0 whitewash of Martin Schindler and dazzling 122 average – his highest in years. His virtuoso performance on that day gives him a six-point boost in averages and restores his top ten position on the Form Guide, but even a 98.16 average puts him in seventh place, behind three fellow members of the Premier League.
Despite being on the losing end of a vintage Van Gerwen performance, Schindler’s semi-final run – in which he defeated one of the hottest properties in darts, Wessel Nijman – brought him over the 50 OChE line with a six-point boost in his leg-winning efficiency.
The following day, Schindler’s countryman Niko Springer matched that achievement by defeating another overachieving Dutchman in the form of Kevin Doets, thereby boosting his OChE by seven points relative to April and making him the most improved player over the past two weeks.
Beau Greaves has emerged as the number one finisher in the PDC, after her run to the quarter-finals of Players Championship 15.
Over her past 200 legs, she has hit 46.4% of her doubles, compared with 42.7% and 42.1% for Humphries and Littler respectively.
Greaves also has a stellar leg-winning rate against ProTour players, even stronger than Welsh number one Jonny Clayton.
Of the top ten doubles hitters in the PDC at the moment, only one (Gerwyn Price) is a participant in this year’s Premier League – reflecting that darts is in a highly-competitive era.
