PDC Fantasy Darts has launched ahead of the 2026 Betfred World Matchplay, as the competition returns for the showpiece event of the summer.
The 2026 World Matchplay will see a star-studded 32-player field competing for a boosted top prize of £225,000 and the coveted Phil Taylor Trophy at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.
As the biggest names in the sport go head-to-head across nine days of action from July 18-26, you can get involved in this year’s tournament by picking your ultimate six-player team – comprised of players competing in the event.
Points will be scored based on your players’ performances, while you can take on your friends in private leagues to determine who is the king of Fantasy Darts!
Picking your team:
Ahead of the tournament’s opening night on Saturday July 18, you must pick six players based on the following pre-determined categories:
The Lukes (x1)
Favourites (x2)
Contenders (x2)
Outsiders (x1)
The top three players on the global Fantasy Darts leaderboard will win a set of signed darts, and in case of any ties, the winner will be determined by the tiebreaker question of how many 180s will be hit during this year’s tournament.
Transfer Explainer
Transfers can only be made from one player to another in that category. Eg: You can only replace an outsider with another outsider, or a favourite with another favourite.
If all players from that category have been eliminated from the tournament, then the squad size will be reduced for the final stages of the tournament.
The transfer windows will be open after the completion of round one on Monday July 20, and following the conclusion of round two on Wednesday July 22.
You will have three transfers available throughout the whole competition, and these transfer windows will also give you the opportunity to change your captain and vice captain.

Nine-Dart Finish: 15 Points
Average over 99.9: 3 Points
Match Won: 3 Points
170 Checkout: 3 Points
Checkout over 99.5: 2 Points
Checkout percentage over 66%: 2 Points
180 Thrown: 1 Point
Leg Won: 1 Point
Leg Lost: -1 Point
Checkout percentage under 33%: -1 Point
