Ryuta Arihara bagged a hat-trick of PDC Asian Tour titles across Events 22-24 in Manila, as the Japanese star closed in on a World Darts Championship debut after a record-breaking weekend in the Philippines.
The 2026 PDC Asian Tour rolled into the Philippine capital from August 1-2, with Events 21-24 taking in a whopping 256 players – a record for Asian Tour events.
Arihara – who had previously won one title on the circuit – stormed to a trio of victories on the Asian Tour to shoot up to third on the rankings and move closer to a Paddy Power World Darts Championship debut.
In Event 22, the 38-year-old conceded just seven legs across eight matches in an imperious Event 22 campaign, with his closest scare coming against Haruki Muramatsu, where he battled back from 3-1 down to win a last-leg decider.
Arihara then averaged 105.47 and 105.17 in consecutive matches against Johnlloyd Castro and Carlo Monsanto respectively, before whitewashing Pin Feng Yeh and Jeffrey Pinas in the final to cap off a remarkable title.
The Japanese arrowsmith continued his strong form into Event 23, coming through a trio of tricky tests to win back-to-back titles.
After a dominant opening four games where he conceded one leg, Arihara won three last-leg deciders against World Championship star Motomu Sakai, Asian Champion Lourence Ilagan and finally Paolo Nebrida in the showpiece to stumble over the finish line.
Arihara completed an Asian Tour hat-trick by claiming Event 24 in another impressive outing at the oche in Manila.
The Japanese star averaged over 104 in the last 16 against Daniel Facturanan, followed by a 101.90 average to whitewash Roger Estacio.
This was followed by another deciding-leg shootout against Muramatsu – where Arihara rallied from 4-1 down and survived multiple match darts – before defeating Christian Perez 5-1 in a dominant final display.
In the opening event of the weekend, Lok Yin Lee claimed his second title of 2026, downing Takayuki Masatsu 5-3 in the finale.
The former World Cup of Darts quarter-finalist emerged through three last-leg shootouts to reach the semi-finals – also defeating Arihara 4-1 in the last 32 – before securing consecutive 5-3 wins to take home the Event 21 crown.
Event 24 finalist Perez moved top of the 2026 PDC Asian Tour ahead of Sakai in second, with Arihara shooting up to third after a breakthrough weekend.
Muramatsu and Man Lok Leung round out the top five spots, with Nebrida and Lee just outside the top five, in sixth and seventh respectively.
The top five players on the PDC Asian Tour rankings following the conclusion of the 2026 season will qualify for the 2026/27 Paddy Power World Championship at London’s Alexandra Palace.
The PDC Asian Tour continues with Events 17-20 in Singapore from July 11-12, and live coverage will be broadcast on PDCTV from the last 16 onwards.
