Dirk van Duijvenbode will replace Man Lok Leung in the 2026 World Series of Darts Finals, after Hong Kong’s World Cup star was forced to withdraw through illness.

Leung – a quarter-finalist in January’s Saudi Arabia Darts Masters – had been due to take on Sweden’s Viktor Tingstrom in his opening round tie.

However, the 27-year-old will miss the World Series of Darts Finals as well as next weekend’s final PDC Asian Tour events and PDC Asian Championship due to illness.

As per PDC Rule 3.7, Leung has been replaced by Dutch star Van Duijvenbode – the first reserve following last month’s Tour Card Holder Qualifier.

World Matchplay semi-finalist Van Duijvenbode – the World Series Finals runner-up in 2022 – will subsequently face Tingstrom on the tournament’s opening night in Amsterdam.

The 2026 World Series of Darts Finals will take place at AFAS Live from September 17-20, with reigning champion Michael van Gerwen and world number one Luke Littler amongst the star attractions.

World number two Luke Humphries and Dutch number one Gian van Veen will also headline, as former champions Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton and James Wade bid to repeat former glories in the Dutch capital.
