Gerwyn Price has been backed into favourite to win the BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix after knocking Ross Smith out in round two on Wednesday night.

Price produced a dominant display to win 3-0 and set up an all-Welsh quarter-final clash with Jonny Clayton, with the pair now occupying two of the first four places in the latest betting.

The Iceman has been cut into 5/2 (from 5/1) to lift the title, while Clayton has also made a major move, shortening into 7/1 (from 14/1) after impressing in his opening two matches.

Luke Humphries is the current second favourite at 11/4, with the 2023 champion set to face Jermaine Wattimena for a place in the quarter-finals this evening.

Nathan Aspinall is now a popular 6/1 shot after impressing in his victory over Luke Woodhouse, while Ryan Joyce continues to emerge as one of the stories of the tournament.

Joyce’s pre-tournament odds of 150/1 have collapsed into just 25/1 after he knocked out Dutch duo Michael van Gerwen and Danny Noppert on his route to the quarter-finals.

BOYLE Sports spokesperson Lawrence Lyons said: “Gerwyn Price has taken over at the head of the betting, but the competition is really hotting up.

“Nathan Aspinall and Jonny Clayton look to have the bit between their teeth, while Ryan Joyce has really emerged as the dark horse and we can’t rule him out from going all the way.”
