Robbie King deposed Brody Klinge from his throne in the first Semi-Final to set up a thrilling finale to ADA Tournament #7 against good friend Tim Pusey, himself dispatching Ben Robb 6-3 in the other match.
The West Australian found it third time lucky to fend off the spirited fightback of King to claim his maiden ADA title by 6-4.
Both King and Pusey netted 3x 180’s apiece at game’s end, but it was Pusey who took early command of the contest. From 1-all, he went on a run of four consecutive legs to lead 1-5 before the man known as ‘Rocket’ threw off the shackles and began the momentum shift.
Stringing together 3-legs to trail by one, King ran out of steam, and Pusey pounced to close out the game 6-4.
It capped a tremulous day of Darts in Adelaide, and with just Sunday’s games to play, Klinge could still manage a threepeat, although the high-quality field may just have something to say about that.
